This afternoon I locked up my car and looked back as I was walking away to see my lights were on (dipped headlamps)

I went back and the light switch was set to 'off'.

I turned them on and off again, and checked to see they were now on sidelights only.

Repeated the switch a few times, and now the drivers side lights are all off, but the passenger sidelight remains on no matter what I do.

Never had this before today, and I've not changed anything in the car.

Any idea where to look? I'm new to beemers, so layman's terms would be great

I don't think so... I'd just reversed into the space in a car park. Worth a run out to check though.

Excorcism!!, Do not know about the Misc Headlights on, but for the "Passenger light stays on" check that your indicator stock is not selected "ON" on the left when you have switched the vehicle off, it is a function that is used in Europe "Park Light Function" which allows you to park in dim lit streets and lets you identify your cars extremities on the road side.

    Or its possessed

That was exactly what it was.

Turned the indicator stalk off and the light went out.

    Thanks.
