I removed and posted mine today to Slowtech's guy.
It will be fixed, returned and back in the car by Thursday evening(hopefully).
Car is driveable minus the EWS,wipers and reversing sensors(I think).
Can't wait to open the doors on a warm day again(could be next summer though).

    What a service..........excellent!!!!
Removed the module on Monday and refitted on Wednesday.....all is well again.
A big thanks to Colin and a massive thanks to Slowtech for the lowdown and the anti-static bag.
By the way, incase anyone is worried about the time scale,I live in Northern Ireland and still received the fixed module in 2 days.
Now I got central locking again,I just need the warm weather to test it to the max.

    Brilliant Kevin

I thought there was a good chance you'd get in back within 48 hrs

    I love a happy ending

PS you might have to wait until next year for the warm weather

This might be slightly off topic! BUT I have a 2002 320d SE Touring and the rear passenger window appears to work in the oposite way to the others i.e. lift the switch to open and push down to close, this applies to both the front switch and door one. I took the door panel off today to check that the motor was not wired in reverse and everything looked normal. The other quirk is that if I hold the remote lock down for a few seconds (to close windows and sun roof, they all do as they should and close remotely except this rear window... it opens fully (it does the complete oposite to what it should do). I have tried reset by holding up/down the switch but no change.
Anyone know if this could be a fault with the general module? and if not what on earth could it be? the switches and motor are all wired correctly and the connectors all look fine. Help!
Going to post as a new topic, hope that is OK with mods

Hey Andy,I think that is the 1 you have to push in a diagonal direction(possibly left to right).

I know this is old but is the chap still repairing the modules or is there another place to get it done?

I'm sick of playing central locking roulette.

I have a E46 320D touring. Yesterday the central locking, electric windows, front wipers, interior lights, rear hatch all stopped working. Fortunatley I can lock with the key and the car drives ok (until it rains). I havn't noticed any spasmodic problems with the central locking before as reported here in this thread.

Is this the dreaded GM5 relay problem? seems strange that everything should stop working at the same time. I've checked fuses, fuse 48 (30amp front electric windows) had blown so I replaced it but still no joy. Fuse doesn't blow again.

If I get to my GM5 is there anything visible to look for, or are the relays sealed? Would a diagnostic tell me anything?
