I have a 2003 (Dec) 320d (ES model) with no fog lights and my LCM only has the rear fog light switch on it.
Within the front bumper i can see two wires, one on each side, coming down to where fog lights would be if my car had them. the plugs at the end of the wires look like the same plugs that are in the fog light kits being sold. i'm wondering if anyone knows if the e46 came with the wiring harness preinstalled for fog lights, just no fog lights or switch for them.

I've picked up a 2nd hand LCM off ebay - this has the front and rear switch.

I'm hoping it's a simple case of fitting a couple of front fog lights, swap over the LCM and maybe a relay....

when i used to work for bmw mini most cars of same model had the same harness and all electrical connections were present and it was just a case of adding a switch and lights to suit. but like another mention in the post some other cars might not have them but i have had a car without front fogs befor and there was wires tapped up in the harness. and i connected them up and replaced the switch and it worked. well saying that i had to add a fuse to the fusebox aswell. dont forget to check if you need a fuse befor you kick the car lol. i did this

I've ordered the fog lights...just waiting for them before I take the bumper off ( I know I should have checked first...)
In the mean time I've swapped out the LCM with one that has the front and rear fog light switches (£25 off ebay 2nd hand)...very easy took 5 mins....and the light even comes on in the dash when I press the switch for the front fog lights...
I'll update this as I progress......

I had a quick peep thru the grills next to the blanking plates of the fog lights and all I could see were some wires that went to the bottom of the bumper. These seem to be held there with a plastic clip attached to the bottom of the bumper and nothing at the end of it.

I'll take some photos and get these posted here....picture says a thousand words and my grammer is rubbish

ok, sorry for the delay.....got distracted from this.

Took the bumper off and checked all the visable wires.
2 x horn (left and right side)
    1 x temp sensor

    Thats it....!!
No hidden wires, nothing tied up anywhere. I've checked the wiring harness and no additional cables.....looks like I'll have to install one.

i bet you have put the manipulation point on the cluster next to your milage . if you look at your milage you will now see the anti tamper point now on . so people now think you have clocked your car
