I'd have a look at the wiring around the centre console incase something has chafed and broken.

Both faults could be linked to the GM5/ZKE module because both functions are controlled by that.

I too had/am having a similar problem , the central locking wasn't working all the time as it should, then i read in one of the manuals something like you have to go for a long drive and that charges the key, and as i was going on a 1500 mile round trip to france anyway it didnt once play up. but now that im back and havent driven the car everyday its started playing up again. At the same time the rear light (the small red one in the boot)is not working even though i have changed the bulbs and checked the connections

With regard to the hazard light switch and the c/l not working fromthe button, I would guess that there has been some fluid (soft drink) spilt into the switch. This often happens as it is conveient to store a bottle of pop next to the hand brake.

Take the switch out, dismantle and clean. Or buy a second hand unit from a breakers.

    Hotshot.
Could you describe how the c/l is playing up? The if a key is totally flat, you should get some usable charge from it by charging it in the ignition switch for just 10-15mins.

well sometimes when I press the button to open the door it just doesnt happen, so i have to press again and again and eventually it will open, and it does get worse if i dont drive for a few days. i just read above and thought that i have the GM5 problem too as 1 of the rear lights doesnt work either

Would you say that it always locks?

Also when you try unlocking the car and the remote fails, are you able to open the drivers door with the key in the lock? If so are you able to open the other doors from inside?
