To all those not lucky enough to have HID headlights you can have 4500K xenon gas headlight bulbs (4 bulbs) + 2 sidelight bulbs from Amazon for £9.95 as a cheaper alternative click here

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Coupe-99-03-...5524789&sr=8-6

Or 6500K Bulbs for £12.95 here

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/BMW-98-05-Up...5524705&sr=8-2

Can't remember seeing them any cheaper on ebay so might be of use to some members

    Cheers,

    Paul

Wouldn't even bother with the 6.5k versions. Doesn't make visibility any brighter and the blue coating will probably peel into your headlamp housings after a year .

    H7 for E46, HB4 for E36.

emm, probably another stupid question, but I'm not sure about this.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Compact-95-0...5541728&sr=1-8

any reason why the bulbs in this set are both described as dipped whereas in the one posted by paul there are bulbs specifically described as high beam bulbs...?

That's because he has got the description wrong. On your car, the high beam is HB3 and the dipped or low beam is HB4 . On an E46, both high beam and dipped are H7.
