Looking for a bit of advice if someone can help.

Passenger side head light has stopped working, after working intermittently for a few days. Assumed intially that it was the bulb (phillips D2S) but switched with the driver side bulb to check before buying a replacement and found that both bulbs were working fine.

Local garage has told me that the problem is with the 'control unit' inside the headlamp which I've interpretted to be the ballast (is this right?).

BMW want the princely sum of £230 just for the replacement part. Is this what I should be expecting to pay or are these available at lower cost elsewhere?

    Any help / guidance appeciated!!

With BMW xenons, you also have to consider the ignitor (no.16 HERE) as well, because it is not integrated into the ballast like the aftermarket ones. Try a swap on that as well.
