Right before i start i understand that the title for this thread is a bit confusing but thats the best way i could describe it in a few words lol

I installed my HID's yesterday and first off i am hugely impressed! One of the best upgrades you can do to a car imo

However, since then every now and again, and for no apparent reason. when i start the engine, the revs sit at 800rpm, fuel gauge goes up and temp goes up (all as normal) but then, and this isnt all the time, all the gauges will drop, as if the car is not running, momentarilythen there is a strange kind of grinding noise (not a mechanical grinding, more an electrical graon) then all the gauges go back up to where they should be

Like i say its not happening every time, Oh and when it does it it resets all my car computer memory ie, MPG Average Speed etc but it doesnt reset my aftermarket head units settings like it does if you disconnect the battery then reconnect it.

The installation on the HID's just required me disconnecting the battery, taking out old bulbs, connecting new ballasts and HID bulbs then reconnecting the battery.

    Can anyone help?

    Cheers Guys

Did your instruction manual for HID's suggest disconnecting the battery? I didn't disconnect the battery when I installed my HID's.

My first guess would be something to with the battery being disconnected, but someone else will probably have a better answer than me and some advice.

Hope you get it sorted mate

    These ones

Could it be that there is a drop in voltage when the lights are on and i start the engine that is making the dials stop working then come back on?
