Yup agreed. Swap the batt for a new one

Invest in a new alternator and you should be fine. Abit gutted I know as euro car parts had 20% off last month.

I had to buy an alternator for the missis car!!

I got the new bosch batt from halfords (this was the one that smoked!). i took it back as i first thought that batt was faulty. its the one they swapped it for thats now had it.. I'll probably just take that back and see what they say.
Looks like Eurocar parts is the place to go for the alternator. I notice they have a few different types under my registration. does it matter which one i get?

I think you'll need the 70 or 80 amp one, i'm not 100% sure. Check on www.realoem.com to find out or check on the back of your alternator.

And also have a look at the number of pins on the plug.
