hi guys im really not sure whats going on with my DSC on my e46, the light isnt illuminated on the dash, until i loose traction and then it flashes up, which is fine, but i cant seem to turn it off? i have tried putting the handbrake on and then holding it for 10 seconds etc but nothing, so when i replaced my dash i changed the button...but its still not working? any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

    cheers

The DSC sounds like it is functioning correctly,

a quick press of the DSC button once, and the triangle tell tale light in the middle lights up informing you that t/c is turned off

If you press and hold the DSC button the trainagle tell tale light in the middle lights up and the handbrake light comes on in orange
informing you that t/c and stability control is off

The lights stay on until you either, press the DSC button again or turn the iggnition on and off again

You can press the button if you are moving or stationary

i got the same problem on mine mate and i looked into it and my dsc sensor is at fault which is under the passenger seat and under the carpet its a bit of a mission to get to as the seat has to come out. my mate knew a guy who worked at bmw and he read my codes and it came up with a code basically saying there was a fault with either the dcs sensor(which is under the passenger seat) or the abs module which is under the bonnet top left anyway i was told to checked i had power coming out of the abs module(which i did) and he said if i had that then its the dsc sensor hope this helps mate
