I've plucked up courage to have a go at this DIY cruise control jobbie.

Is there anyone who has ready made kits avaliable for dispatch.

I currently have the 3 spoked wheel and can I confirm that ALL i need is the button bar, the B61 12 0 016 012 harness and the little adapter plug B61 13 0 005 201 and that is it??

Finally are all the button bars the same and compatible?

    Thanks guys and gals

    Afternoon,

I know this has probably been done on here already but i am proper stumped on this .

I have been told thesE e46's are all ready to work CC and MF buttons. I have got the top piece with buttons on it for the wheel, which is m-sport 3 spoke .

This top piece has a plug on back , but when i read on internet i see videos of taking wires out rom here and everywhere and if i attempt that then i can kiss goodbye to me motor as i'm a complete numpty when it comes to tech stuff.

So what i am in need of please is some solid advise as to what i need kit wise , looms etc , does software need tweeking etc etc.

BMW tell me i need a kit £144 and i need to get it fitted , some say it cant be done , other say its easy !!!!!

all i want to know is can i have CC and radio controls on my steering wheel , is it easy to fit and is it expensive - if too much hassle i wont bother .

many many thanks in advance for any help offered .

    cheers

    sniper

The wiring of cruise control really only consists of three lengths of wires.
The three wires are first inserted in to a connector at the steering column and the two of the wires are tapped in to two wires
at the light control module wiring loom and the third wire goes out to the ecu.
You will need the proper bmw pins for the placement of the three wires at the connector at the steering column.
The other ends of the three wires can be tapped in to their designated places.
