As per the title, there is no warning light showing on the dash, however, the alternator is not charging and is showing approx. 10.5 - 11v via meter across the terminals and a little plugin LED device in the lighter socket.
I only found out that the battery was low when i went to start the car and the starter was very weak and failed to start the car. Put the charger on for a shortwhile and car started fine but again turned it off and tried and again failed as very little power in battery.
When i fully charge the battery - via terminals in engine bay- the battery will hold its charge for days and i can drive the car for a few miles but fails to charge.
I am wondering if i have disturbed the single wire to the alternator connected to the back of the alternator - i think it has a small spade connector - with the many episodes of removing the manifold etc.
Any idea what this wire is for - could it be for the charge failure light?
Too dark to have a look now but will look later.
