    I've got an e46 318ci coupe...

The warning light has appeared on my dash for the o/s light, After checking this i have discovered it is a problem with the indicator.

everything is fine when my lights are not on. The indicator works properly and theres no problems. However when i turn my sidelights on the indicator lights up as well and stays on until i either turn headlights on or turn sidelights off.

Its very annoying as i can no longer use my angel eyes as it looks stupid with one indicator bulb solidly lit!!

Is it a problem with the wiring has anyone had this problem before and know how to get rid of it??

    Cheers

Is this a case of the check control is assuming that the side light has failed ( because angel eye mod, doesn't look like a incandecant bulb) so it will illuminate the indicator instead of the side light.

    Two possible fixes,
    1. Fit a resistor across the angel eye, such that it fools the CC module into thining there is a functioning side light

    2. Get a auto electrician (like me!) to code the CC module to not check side lights!

Thanks for replying! So heres the problem in a picture the sidelights both appear fine and working ok. when i put my headlights on as well as sidelights the bulb turns back off. Is there any way i could fix this my self as there is only one auto electrician in my area and he costs a bomb!

with ignition off turn side light on. are both tiny front side light bulbs illuminated?
