Hi, has anyone used a CTEK 3600 to charge the battery on a 318ci?
My battery was completely flat and probably sulphated after sitting in the garage for 2 months so I got one of these.
It has been charging? now for 4 days and the red light is still on the half battery image.
Anybody have any idea how long it takes for the light to go to green on the full battery image?
A friend mentioned to me that the alternator may be damaged. Is that possible?
Any help would be most appreciated.

Has it finished now? I'll let you know how long it takes in mine when I get round to using it.

Most batteries should be charged within four days

It should really do it within 20-30 hours.

I think the half battery indicator means it's got enough juice to start the car but is still trying to top it up at a reduced rate?

I tried the charger on my neighbours car who uses his car regularly. I expected it to go to green full charged battery image fairly quickly. I came back to check after an hour but it was still on red half battery image. Spoke to the dealer who I bought it from (still under warranty), said the unit may be faulty. Will take itback to him to check it.
