put hid's in my e36 and it was a doddle and looked good.
i now have a 2002 5 series, halo lights, i want to fit hid's to it but have been reading about faults coming up on the dash saying the lights are out? low power drain? so computer says bulbs in op?
also is there a need for an adaptor ring to take the bulb?
has anyone done this to an e39 with the halo lights?
do you have a list of the things i WILL need to get the job done

    steve

You need a HID Kit with canbus or error-free technology, the site in the link below has a kit for your model of car and it shouldn't give you any errors

    http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/hid-con...its-p-263.html

The kit should have everything you need.

    Steve,

Post a thread when you get these fitted, it would be good to see how they look. Which kit did you go for - 6k,8k or 10k?

    cheers

    Dav

since my last post i have had noting but trouble with these hid lights, flickering, a faulty balast, random lights going out.
i bought the kit of hid-direct, for 69.99, they say they should work with my car but dont.
anyhow, hid-direct have been spot on with customer service, replaced faulty parts next day and have been great.
after all the problems i report, the chap there says they have had other late e39's with the same problem, so the replaced the whole kit with the canbus pro wide view kit.
this is the £149.99 option, microprocessor controlled, and much better quality
they did this free of charge and i am well chuffed.
they work fine now, no flickering, no dash lights, so fingers crossed no more issues.
to other e39 owners dont bother with the 69.99 ones they wont work right! buy the more expensive ones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

these are the ones you want.

Unfortunately I bought the £69.99 kit and am having the above issues. I didnt see this topic befoe buying obviously. Ive only fitted my kit today and the LED angel eyes are flikering light a police car when you power up the ignition and one of the lights keeps going out.

I hope they are as generous with me as they were with you.
