Hi, In the last 4 or 5 weeks I,ve had problems (has happened 7 or 8 times) with central locking playing "silly buggers" and also when inserting key into ignition and turning to ignition position there is no electric power showing to either ignition circuits or battery fed circuits (total power loss?) Each time it has happened I,ve been trying to access the car, and either the central locking won,t open or it has opened itself before I,ve got to the car, and a couple of times as described earlier when turning ignition on there is no electric power. Each time one of these "gliches" has happened I,ve got it corrected and engine started quite quickly by re-inserting key or playing around with doors, etc. I wondered if it could be a key to car comms problem or battery problem but it happens also with my spare key, and battery seems to check out ok (green indicator on and reading 12.4V with voltmeter) I,m worried that I lose electric power when driving but since that has not happened, I was thinking it,s maybe that it,s only a central locking/immobiliser/accessing the car problem. Sorry about the long winded explanation but I hope somebody can shed light on this.
p.s. I am a factory maintenance electrician but modern car electrics, modules et al confuse me big style !!
