I'm planning on fitting a simple Bluetooth handfree kit that fits into the Cigar lighter socket. I want to wire it in permanantly rather than have it in the socket all the time. The plan is to cut of the plug and wire it into (with the fuse) a power source near the steering wheel switched with the ignition.

Does anyone know where I can pick up a 12v switched supply near the steering wheel, prefferably without taking half the car to pieces.

    Thanks.

To be honest mate, I would suggest the best place would an ignition wire on the ignition barrel. Only the underneath panel of the steering wheel to remove.
    Regards

If in doubt purchase a light tester and probe the wires in the ideal area

You will find an ignition feed going to your head unit
