    Good Morning Gents

I have a 51 plate 3ld sport which I brought in the winter and the air con was not blowing cold, I presumed it was just a simple regas. I took the x5 to be gassed yesterday the good news was no leaks. The bad news was the compressor was not kicking in or the fan. After a diagnostic check the fault was replace the heater control unit.

The normal heater works well no problems with heat ect but one or two of the button seem to be mixed up. i.e. you want air to the face, you get it to your feet. I've been told an electrical fault may cause this and not the unit. I don't want to buy a replacement unit if it just a fault somewhere else.

Has anybody else had this type of problem before if so your thoughts & help would be great.

    Thanks Mike

There are some switching transistors inside the HVAC control unit that may have blown and could result in the symptoms you describe.
