    Hi,

after a week of manually locking my car i have decided to do something about it. From the sounds of it, it looks like the usual GM5 central locking fault.

I know there are people who repair them but has any one tried doing it themselves?

You know me, like to have a try at anything.......i.e. working on my car!!

Simon (Slowtech) had this issue with his E46, see page 5 of his thread, http://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/forum/...ervice-t16743/ - the offending relays are so small...

    Good Luck Lloydy.

If you want to have a go yourself Lloyd, then it may be cheaper to get the relays from Germany...LINK. It's not difficult if you are good at soldering mate

These are the relays you need to replace Lloyd, as you can see they're on the small side.
You should find some pics to assist DIY at http://www.bmwgm5.com/ ,hope you get sorted mate

Spoke to Colin this morning and the symptoms are slightly different to the GM5 issues, but we have established that it could the the driver's door locking module as the interior light doesnt come on when i open the door. So will change that and see.
