My battery has been going flast overnight intermittently for a few months now. Local indy has replaced alternator, battery and starter in recent weeks and for 2 weeks i thought the problem was solved. Yesterday when trying to start I just got a clicking noise from starter however now the headlights come on when I turn the key even though they are switched off!! I am going to attempt the parasitic battery drain procedure however I wondered if anyone else had heard of the problem where the lights come on

Difficult to say as you've replaced the main items. I wonder if you have a faulty Light Switching module. If the unit is faulty i believe it can go into emergency mode which will cause the dipped beams and tail lights to come on when the ignition is on even though the light switch is off. It's just a possibility. Do your indicators/hazards and full beam work?

Maybe the fan is draining the battery mate! The fan only works when water is hot and it needs cooling maybe thats where the problem is but i would advise to have the ECU read i am sure it will tell whats the problem!

Thanks mate.....went out to the car again and had a quiet moment.....sounds like its the aircon fan thats staying on at low speed.

The fan also does odd things when I mess about with the controls on manual....IE doesnt appear to speed up until high...mid sounds same as low speed etc.

Sounds like you have a faulty FSU or the relay to the FSU is playing up.

Yes, hedgehog thing. See what happens if you remove fuse F50 first.
Relay K4 located behind centre console.
