There seem to be a lot of potholes around after the recent snowy weather.

If I inadvertently go over one and cause a jolt, the radio goes off or the CD (juke box changer in the boot) stops. Pressing the multi function steering wheel button to switch tracks or stations usually brings things back to life, but yesterday I hit a bump and the two front windows went down about half way!

Any suggestions about where I should start looking?

    Thanks,
    -pmclondon

I had this problem with my e36 today, but the windows didn't go down. The stereo turned itself off and then came on 2 seconds later after hitting a pothole. I removed the glovebox as I could hear random clicking coming from that area and it turned out to be the loom catching and putting stress on some plugs. Sorted it out in 5mins and then got another problem with the HID's turning themselves off which turned out to be a loose ground connection

OK, thanks for the pointer. I'll start at the glove box.
