Got a few niggles with the compact that ive now got round to trying to sort.

1st is that when i removed the rear boot plastics to get to the wiper motor i noticed the boot light didnt appear to have any connections? Although there is a bulb in the light itself?

Secondly problem with the rear wiper, i opened the boot and operated the wiper and all i got was a noise as though the motor was operating but no movement of the wiper arm.

I was on my own so i had no one to have a look into the boot to look and see if there was any movement on the motor itself. So i know there is power to the motor.

Any guesses as to what i should be looking for?

Can you move the wiper arm on its own by hand. If so it might be the gear stripped in the motor if not it could be electrical bearing in mind the other problem with missing wiring. All E46 models tend to break the boot wires inside the elephants truck that takes the wiring from the boot to the rest of the car. I suppose its the constant flexing.
