First time posted, so forgive me if I'm not 100% in the correct place, hope I am tho!

when unlocking my car with the key, the windows will roll down nearly every time, whilst this is great in the summer and actually looks quite cool, it is a pain in the arse in winter!

Can anyone help. ps. nice forum and very helpful.

My father in laws 320d coupe also does this when using the remote central locking, but only the drivers door does this.

what he said. mine does this only if I press and hold the button (as it is coded to do). A quick press just unlocks the car.

Unfortunately, locking the car doesnt have the facility to close the windows in the same way as since 2000 ish they decided it was an unsafe practice and could trap a kiddies fingers or something similar (you have to use the key in the lock to make all the windows close).
2002 325 Compact Sport ti M-Tec---- A little thanks goes a long way

If it's not the button doing it then check the switch out on the drivers door barrel.

it's def not the button as only pressing once (no holding), it does this on both sides and rear windows, so bit of a pain in the rear to be honest!

I saw this fault earlier today.

Does you driver door lock barrel work okay? I reckon that the key barrel has failed, leaving the innards stuck almost in the unlock positon.
