    Hi all,

My E39 2001 530d has just passed an MOT after being off the road for 6 months (Hit a Bollard front end rebuild )

I have been driving it for a week now and noticed the front n/s indicator was out (flashing fast on instrument display) I replaced both front indicators with quality German ones ( DRB Warrington) for £5 worked fine for about 3 hours.

Now the right indicator is continually flashing in the central position (indicator stalk) when i use the left signal it goes off, when in the right position and pushed forward it signals left ?!?

I have read some of the posts and it seems to be down to the LCS but it worked fine before?

I have disconnected the stalk and it still flashes to the right.

When the ignition is off obviously the parking light is now on.

I would really appreciate any ideas you guys have.

I dont really want to take out the LCS and start soldering but will do if that is what it takes.

I had a very similar problem on an E46. I had the choice of Right indicator or left indicator. No off position. I traced the fault down to the switch assembly. Stripped it down cleaned and rebuilt, proper indicators.

I think it is pointing to the lights module, where is the boot release button?
I would have said something along the lines of bootlid wiring, but washer jets should be isolated from the rear of the car (unless it's a tourer)
