I have just been right royally bent over at the stealership.
My Battery died about 2 weeks ago and the car wouldn't slave start so I bought a new battery from Halfrauds (£75 with a trade card). Went to fit it and still no joy so I had to bite the bullet and get the guys who I normally use to tow it and have a look. They initially thought starter motor but it turned out to be the key. They were unable to do anything but tow it to the local stealership. It was taking a while for them to get back to me so I rang them and they told me that the stealership had found the fault but had not bothered ringing up to see what kind of key I wanted so just got a basic key with no remote to replace my remote locking key. So I told them that I didn't want the basic key I obviously wanted like for like. I am really annoyed they didn't phone to check.
I have just picked her up and not only have they charged me £114 labour they have also charged me for a key I didn't want. So in total it was £250 quid.
I suppose the lesson here is to get a diagnosis done on any little faults early in case they become huge dramas.
