    all my keys have just stopped opening the car remotely?

    Two things spring to mind, you could have a broken wire between the vehicle body and the tailgate, or the general module behind the glovebox has a faulty lock/unlock relay inside it. Most likely to be wiring though. Hope this helps

    thanks barney3, could that also cause the abs light to throw a wobbly?

    I suspect the ABS to be seperate problem, unfortunately the abs sensors BMW fitted to E39 weren't the best.

    had 2 new sensors and still problems

    Have you had the fault codes read to show which sensor is faulty?
