Hi
my son' came home yesterday with the drivers side dipped beam not working. Assumed it was the bulb, so replaced it, but it still does not work. I tried the bulb from the other side which was working, and that did not work either. Any suggestions please.
Check fuses F9 and F32. These fuses and 2 other main fuses just supply the light switch control unit. This unit then switches the power to the lights. Both low beams are on separate circuits, the wires are yellow/blue for one side and yellow/green for the other side. Not sure which is which but you can check the wires going to the lights.
With the lights switched on, check with a multimeter or test lamp if there is 12v getting to the wire at the light connector.
You could also check for 12v at the back of the light switch centre at the same coloured wires
i have same prob on me e36 compact, passenger side dipped, changed bulb, no, checked fuse 1 for each side, no , have to look more tomorrow, good luck
