One long solid beep when you select reverse is a fault. Turn on the ignition, do not start the car, select reverse, go around the back and put your ear to each sensor.

    They should be clicking.

When you find the faulty one, known faults are
a faulty sensor (You can get new Land Rover ones for about £15-25.)
open circuit due to damaged socket clips (push on sensor connector from behind to test)
on the sensor over the exhaust - the wiring can touch the exhaust and melt through.
