    Hi everyone,..
I have a E46 325i convertible and the boot wont open when I press the central lock button on the key.The tailgate light is on in the check control panel, the boot light(inside) has stopped working also? The hood won't come down either...I'm guessing because of the malfunction with the boot. Any ideas anyone?? thanks in advance

Open the boot with the key and then check the wiring from the body to the boot lid, common for breaking from repeated opening and closing.

Yeah mate the wires running through the rubber sleeve.

Sounds to me like a dodgey microswitch for your cab hatch. Make sure its clicked down properly into position and you should hear the boot solonoid release. I'm speaking from a e36 cab example but i'd guess the tech is the same
