I got the emmisions light come up on my dash so i did a scan with carsoft and sure enough there was a fault with the lambda sensors, however i'm not able to work out which one it is.
these are the faults that carsoft is throwing up:
lambda control deviation too large bank 2
lambda control deviation too large bank 1
All it says is that the difference between them is too large, which i guess would happen if one of them went. Or does it mean that both of them have gone. seems strange that they both would go at once.
The car has done about 107,000 miles.
Asked BMW how much a proper scan costs and they said roughly £70 on ebay you can get a replacement lambda sensor for only £60 so would be cheaper to change them both!
I erased the fault but it came back on about 100 miles later.
Is there a way in carsoft to get a more definative answer as to which one it is? Is it nearly always a specific sensor that goes first?
