Hi there folks. Well this is my first newish 3 series and I have to say the old ones seem to be built better. I got a problem that I have only noticed with the bitter weather. When I have the radio on and try to use the rear demister all I get is static from the radio. :S Bit annoying as I have to switch off the stereo while I demist it. Very weird. All jacks and cables in the back of the headunit must be fine as it is only when the rear demister is on that I lose it. Can anyone shed any suggestions for me to try. I did find a post in the E39 section of someone having the same trouble but there is no fix posted. Am I right in saying the aerial is in the back windscreen?

yeah, the ariel is in the window. Check the ariel connector in the C pillar as they sometimes work loose.

But would that not affect it all the time? This is only when the rear demister is on.

Thats the thing. I checked it there and the connections are fine. I am beginning to think this is a dodgy relay or the connections in the screen are shot. I am going to check the connection in the pillar tomorrow. Any decent guides? I have never took apart a BMW this new before. lol.
