I've been trying to fault find my ABS problem for ages now and i'm not making much progress.
When my ABS + Traction Control lights come on i also have other faults including the car not knowing if any of the drivers side doors are open (doesn't turn on the interior lights when getting in the car) and it doesn't sound the "lights-on" warning when getting out of the car). Also the alarm doesn't come on.
when the ABS + traction control lights are on i get these fault codes:
Part Number - 6902366
CE – Außentemperaturfühler [External/Ambient Temperature Sensor]
F5 – CAN Indentifikation fehlt (ASC)
87 – Karosserie-Bus (K-Bus)
D7 – Tankgeber 2 (ohne Kraftstoffpumpe) Tank-Hebelgeber 2
ZKE / ZVM
Part Number – 8 3885 540
1 – Sicherung vom IB und TSH
7 – Module nicht codiert
4 - Klemme R
ABS / ASC / DSC
Part Number – 6 75 17 67
49 – Wheel sensor, Rear left or outlet valve front right
17 – Front Left wheel sensor
148 – CAN ERROR engine speed (RPM)
but when the ABS lights go out and i do a scan i get no faults on any systems so they must all be related surely.
would a corroded earth, bad power connection mean that these systems fail the self test when the engine is cranked? With the battery in the boot theres quite a lot of cable to degrade over time.
anyone else have any ideas? could it simply be a loose plug somewhere (i've checked all the easy to reach ones ones)
this problem is really bugging me. I'm begining to think it could be a major electrical module fault if they always appear together
