    18 months ago i fitted led rear lights to my e46 coupe 2000 reg.They are plug and play ones with 3 boxes wired into them that i have stuck to inside of rear quarter panel.I bought them off ebay and they have been fine till last week when stop and tail part of light packed in although indicator still works any help would be much appreciated

    Good with a voltmeter? You need to dismantle the pcb and see if there is voltage at those non working LEDs.

    thanks for your help but i forgot to say the lights work sometimes for a couple of minutes then cut out.somebody told me the boxes wired into them are transformers and they could be the problem but i cant replace them because no writing on them at all telling you what voltage they are

    Those plastic boxes are not transformers...they are resistor packs for the LEDs. You may have some frayed wires from them to the circuit board if lights seem to work at times.
