    hi all happy new year to you all. a quick question for you all. i managed to trap my key in my front house door and its smashed. my question is if i buy a second hand key from ebay with the insides in would i be able to reprogramme it myself?

    hi,yes you would be able to reprogramme with no problem.(has happened to me in the past)

    Try this
    - Sit in the car with all the doors shut and windows up with your key fobs (all your fobs need to be done at the same time)
    - With one of your keys turn the ignition on then off and remove the key
    - Press and hold the unlock botton and then press the lock button 3 times.
    - Release all buttons and the locks will bounce up and down.
    - Repeat this with the other key/keys (press and hold unlock and press lock 3 times, locks will bounce)

    Note: Only switch your ignition on once, doing so again while programming will reset the process and you will have to start again.

    OP, one thing to remember is that you need to transplant your transponder chip over to the new key otherwise it won't start.

    no mate its the three button one with the locking button in the middle

    If you are going like for like then the transponder on the diamond shaped key is on the circuit board. Two pics below will show you with and without the transponder. The copper windings is the antenna.
