    what happens if you unplug the switch. Do the lights go off?

    Can you determine whether you have 12v at the switch. The +ve is a violet/yellow wire and the ground is a brown/black wire.
    Also, on that type of switch, what does the pedal press on?

    i think i have finally solved the problem, i think its the black box on back of ignition switch as the manual says that the purple wire is switched live but i have no power to this and when i bridged it from perm live everything semmed to work again, anyone know where i could get a second hand one from to try? thanks

    Have you had any luck with this one? I have a 2000 328i and the brake lights are stuck on just when the car is on and also the radio doesnt work can any body help me?
