If the indicators don't flash on locking and unlocking with the remote does that mean the alarm doesnt arm?

But, I can open the passenger side door then close it and activate the alarm. BUT! when temperature is cool or engine is cool (example) when I leave in the morning to go to work) it will arm and disarm.

Assuming we are talking about the original bmw alarm,
If you double click the button it disarms the alarm.
Have you tried disarming and rearming the alarm ?
