Hi Guys, I have a problem with my alarm system. The system only activates after i have opened and closed my passenger door. The central locking system works every time i use it. If i make a journey and just get out of the car and lock up the alarm doesnt work, i have to physically open the passenger door and then close it and then press the alarm and it works.

I guess that the door contact is not idicating as closed to the alarm system. The door closed sensor is built into the door lock actuator, so it would worth looking at this first.

The easiest way might be to observe the interior light action when you open and close the door. Also do door open warning lights work correctly on the dash?

Silly question, but how do you know if the alarm has armed? Are you referign to the flashing light on the rear view mirror?

When you press lock on the fob exactly what happens?

When i unlock the car no lights flash to show this. Then after i have done a journey and get out of the car i press the lock button on the fob. The central locking works but no lights flash to show the alarm has been set. Then when i unlock the car and go round to the passenger door and open and shut it and then press the lock button the lights on the car all flash to show the car is now alarmed !

When you drive, stop, get out, lock with the remote. The indicators don't flash. Okay with me. What does the red light on the rear view mirror do?

Colin, I went to work this morning and got out of the car and pressed the lock button. I noticed the light on the rear view mirror didnt blip. I went round and opened and closed the passenger door. This time the light started blipping on the rear view mirror.

    This is most puzzeling.

What happens if with it locked and alarmed, you unlock, open drivers door, shut and lock with key fob. Does the alarm arm?
