    hi all,

i think it may be my battery that has had it.
how can i do a diy test, or what are the common signs the battery has gone?

the car turns over but doesnt start, and the battery seems to drain fast. could it be there is not enough cranking power in the battery?

you need a multimeter set range to dc volts if there is a dial then turn it so it is higher than 12v normally 20v on the scale if battery is kaput the voltage at the terminals will be less than 11v dc.
A good battery will have a terminal voltage of 13.5-13.8 volts dc.
If memory serves me you cant use a booster pack or jump start you car as it will damage your electrics there should be a thread on here some-where if you use the search to find out how to change the battery on your car as i do believe there might be a set procedure ( i may be wrong i own an e36 so no such issues for me).
someone will probably post one way or another.
There's an alternative. There's always a third way, and it's not a combination of the other two ways. It's a different way

I see you've made you're decision now lets see you enforce it.

The search facility on here is your friend
