    Hi all,
I have searched for this topic but I am still unclear as to what wires I need to use and from where. I am trying to follow the diagram that was sent with the alarm (FMA3 FM two way car alarm system with remote start) but I cannot find the same colour sequence in the car as the diagram. I have searched the net high and low but cannot find any instructions for the correct installation of this kit. It has 3 blocks with various wires in each.
I will list the wires from top left, then the top right, then second row left, then right etc. I will list the colour on the block and what colour the diagram states to attach to.
    Block 1.
Orange/Black to Yellow/Black of central locking
Orange to Yellow of central locking
White/Black to White/Black of central locking
White to White of central locking
Yellow/Black to Orange/Black of central locking
Yellow to Orange of central locking
    Brown to Brown Blinker
    Red to Temperature sensor
    Brown to Brown Blinker
    Black to Temperature sensor
    Red/Black to Red/Black trunk
    Pink to Pink/Red Horn

    Block 2.
    Red to Red power +12v
    Brown to Brown Ignition 2
    Purple to Purple air conditioning
    Blank
    Yellow to Ignition 3 (STR)
    Black to Black GND

    Block 3.
    Red to Red window
Green to Green side door (+)
Blue to Blue side door (-)
Yellow to Yellow engine cut off
    White to White ACC
    Orange to Orange footbrake
    Purple to Purple handbrake
Grey to Grey start up sensor.

There is also a relay plug or similar. It has a plug with 4 pins to plug into it. It has 2 green with a white and a yellow. The white and yellow look like thay are connected in some way with a little electrical connector with coloured lines on it (forget the name of these). I beleive this is something to do with either the remote start of some sort of loop for an immobiliser.

also has vibrating and motion sensor - straight forward
    led - straight forward.

Where do I find all these wires as I have looked and found the central locking module but I cant see any orange wires from it? Do I need all these wires?
Why would the yellow and orange seem to be the wrong way round on block 1? Any help would be welcomed.

Sorry for all the questions but if I know where and what to look for I will give it a go myself.

    Regards Bill

These systems are designed for universal use so the colours won't match as each manufacturer and car has their own scheme. You need to search to forum for a link to the Compact wiring diagram and work out for yourself I'm afraid.

The alarm wires you've listed are what the alarm will need to be connected to, the wires on the car will be a different colour

But to help you out a little all the connections you need can be made behind the glovebox apart from the immob on the starter wire and 2 more under there for the ignition for the remote start (which will make your car easier to steal because it makes the transponder in the key redundant).

Get some pics of whats behind your glovebox and i'll try to help you as much as I can. You'll need a multimetre too or a test lamp

Is it just a typo or were E36's made in 2000? I thought they stopped in '98?

    E36 it is then

Did you manage to take pics of whats behind your glovebox mate? I'd be able to give you advice on how to wire up the ignition sense, door switches, central locking and immobiliser on the strater and/or fuel pump relay.

I would be able to help on the remote start but I haven't done one on a e36 before but should be straight forward if you can tell me whats what with a multimetre

I will try and get a picture or 2 tommorrow after work - day light allowing. I will let you know either way. I found a purple plug behind there that I beleive works the central locking.
