    I recently bought some footwell lights to fit in my car, I'll wire them from my curtious light but I need the connecter to fit them into the light does any1 know what the name of this is? It's a stairs like shape

    Put up a pic of the lights mate. Both footwells should have an area that is marked and can be cut out.

    The easiest way to connect to the courtesy light circuit is to find a small wiring loom heading up your A pillar on the driver's side.

    There is a red wire - see photo. (not the best pic, but you can see a yellow wire which has been spliced into this wire.

    To check if it is the right one, take a sharp blade and make a small nick, then use a pencil tester to see if the wire becomes live when the courtesy lights come on. If so, splice into this and connect to your new lights, then ground both lights to close the circuit.

    Cheers for that, they're standard footwell lights taken from a e36 I just wonders if the connectors had a certain name so I cud get some from eBay? Might pop to scrapyard at wkend probs best idea
