Hi folks, Boxhead here (first post so don't jump down my neck if you find something wrong with it please)

Right, well I have a problem with my keyfob and/or central locking (as the title suggests). First of all the main problem is that my keyfob will not lock my car (this is only sometimes but it is getting more and more frequent), yet the fob will always unlock the car once I have locked the doors with the key. I have also tried my spare keyfob and this does the exact same (which leads me to think that it is not a faulty fob) and both fobs are still showing a red light when a button is pushed.

When this locking issue occurs and I have locked the car manually, if I press the lock button on the fob (to try and activate the alarm) my interior lights still come on as they should when I unlock the car. Also if sat inside the car and I manually lock the drivers door it does not lock the passenger door. I am also presuming that the alarm is only activated when you use the fob as I am not getting my flashing red light when I manually lock the door with the key.

If you require more info then please just ask as any assistance is greatly welcomed

    Thanks - Boxhead

There's a massive thread documenting my experience with a failing GM5 unit here on the forums,
the long and short is that yes it can be fixed relatively cheaply, DIY approx £25 and sent away £70
