Hi, is there any (simple) way to make the cigarette socket 'in-active' when the car is off? I have a ZUNE plugged in providing my tunes, but worry I will leave the thing plugged in overnight only to find its killed the battery by the morning. Any ideas? Is this something others have done? Thanks

Depends how good you are at electrics. All you really need to do is change the Permanent live to an Ignition live instead. Will only work when the keys in then.

Dont know anything about the wiring locations on the E46's though. Sorry.

It has a dedicated fuse for the cig lighter so you could wire up some sort of switch in the glove box if you don't want to remove dash panels
