    hi guys my beamer engine fan will not go off even if the ignition is off.
    i have to disconnect the wires at the fan which is a real pain
    does any one know what controls this fan eg athermo switch or a relay ???

    Do you have a e46 or a e36? it may be the low or high speed relay.

    One of the first ports of call should be getting the BMW fault codes read for the cars engine and heater ECU, any Main dealer(more expensive), BMW Independent specialist or good independent garage should be able to do this for you, get a copy of any codes and then post them up here and we will help out where we can with what you need to do next.

    well i finally got the problem sorted with the fan. i tried changing all the sensors but that didnt work. changed the fan unit and now it is working perfect. these fans seem to give a rite bit of bother.
