    Hi

Was wondering if anyone knows, i would like to put M5 wing mirrors on my 523 - the M5 have the fold function. I know i will need a new control panel on the drivers door - but will the car actually be wired up for the folding function or would i have to add it all in ?

These are the ones im looking at:

    Hi mate,

I recently changed my mirrors on my 330ci for the m3 wing mirrors. I made the mistake of believing the seller that they would fit ok without checking myself.

I have ended up with trying to connect 9 wires from the mirrors to the 12 wires from the car. It works to an extent but not perfect.

If I were you I would have a look at your mirrors and check how many wires you have to be on the safe side.

If you have the memory seats and electric fold mirrors (like I have) then you need mirrors with the 12 wire connections. I would imagine this is the same with yours.

I hope this helps you a little bit.

    Hi

I dont have memory seats at the momment or folding mirrors - im just wondering if the car will be wired up for folding mirrors just obviously nothing will be plugged into it.

However having just seen how much a new control panel is going to set me back i think i might forget the folding route and just get a set of M5 mirrors with the heated function etc and fold the mirrors manually if i need to.
