I've only had the car for a week and love it to bits but I've just been left with a problem not of my making.
I've just had a few parking dings removed along the rear nearside quarter and a fine job has been achieved, you wouldn't know they were there so I'm well pleased but I now have an electrical fault warning coming up on the central check display, it reads "Check brake lights".
I know the guy who removed the dings removed the light cluster for access so I just assumed he had replaced the bulbs incorrectly, on investigating the problem and undoing the 4 small bolts to the cluster myself I saw he had nipped the brake light wire between the stud on the cluster and the car body. So I'm hoping for an easy fix by replacing the bulb and although the lights are working fine again the check display still pings me the "check brake lights" warning on start up and when switching off the engine.
I did try disconnecting the battery for an hour this morning hoping it would reset itself but no luck I'm afraid, any ideas as to what I have to do to rectify this.
