    Hi,

Just a simple question, how do the angel eye rings work ?

The rings on one of my headlights has gone out, and i've no light when the headlights are on. Does one bulb power both parts or something ?

The Angel eyes are usually aftermarket addons and work independantly from the main beam. Do you have dipped lights or high beams or nothing at all?

did they come as standard on 1999 e39?
i thought they only came on the face lift version?

im no expert on the e39 but when i had mine on the e36 the rings were wired seperatly so i could choose to have them come on either with side or main beam.

not sure if this could be a possibility?

on the E39's some of the aftermarket kits you have to splice the AE wiring in with the sidelights. The OE hellas come with wiring adaptors.

If they are original Hella's its just a bulb, but you have to purchase a new bulb holder too as the bulb and holder come as one. Simple swap out job, you may want to consider changing both sides and upgrading the bulbs to crisp white ones! Loads on ebay for around £31 they look much better than the dull yellow ones and are computer error free. Changed mine on my last 3 E39's.

    Hi,

They are genuine Hella lights and are the proper units not a retro fit etc - previous owner installed them.

The setup is the rings come on when i put side lights on, they stay on with headlights on and main beam on.

At the mo i have side lights, main lights and main been but no rings on the passenger side and no sidelight on passenger side - working driver side fine though. No warnings on the dash either.
