Hi Guys, First post from a newbie. Bought this pukka 1999 E38 728i with 59,000 and A1 bodywork. Only problem is that the airbag light is always on. What is the problem and could you help me with the way to fix it if possible. Cheers Lee

Quite often it just needs someone with the diagnostic gear to reset it. Failing that, it could actually be faulty (for which you'll need the diagnostic gear to find out).

Mine came on and off intermittently, took it to and indy and they programmed it out of the car. Only problem is if I crash all airbags come out what ever. Its a lot cheaper than having the seat stripped and special parts put in etc.
    Good luck.

have heard a couple of different reasons for the bag lights... mine (E36) was caused when the ribbon cable on the slip ring behind the steering wheel snapped (my fault, incorrect re-fit when changing the steering wheel)... have also heard about occupancy sensors in the seat becomes faulty...

After I had changed the slip ring, I went to a local garage and they reset the light within about 20 seconds!!!

    hope it helps...
