When I arm the alarm all seems to work fine, however when I disable it with the grey button it goes off. It seems sensing the power being sent to the central locking motors.

I have disconnected the bonnet switch due to it being snapped off, thus mimicking it being open circuit while armed.

    Any suggestions welcomed. Thanks, Nick

Holding the grey button down too long, usually because the fob battery is poor, will set off the personal attack alarm.

Change the fob battery and try pressing the grey button quickly to disarm and post the result.

it depends which alarm is fitted. (later type) both have red and grey buttons cat 1 version red armed, grey disarmed + hold panic like billy said the other one red is arm and disarm grey is just panic.
I used to fit serpi alarms many many moons ago. does anyone want to know how to reprogram the remotes on the bmw system?

If you want to make a thread yourself with the details in, I'm sure it can come in handy to people.

Did you ever get this sorted. I have the same problem. I can set the alarm on, leave it 3 minutes, then when i disable the alarm it go's off.
    3G EWS mk2

Basically it all started when i left the car for a while, the main car battery went flat and had to be replaced. Is there a procedure for putting in a new car battery regarding ensuring the alarm works.
