Hiya iv got a problem with my 18 button obc, i wired all the wires up and it was working fine till the other day then my main display screen went out but the clock screen stayed on so took the bulb out of the clock bit and swapped it with one of the other 3 bulbs in the main display incase the bulb had blown and the same thing happens just the clock bit lights up. It still works tho because if i shine my phone or a torch in the holes where the bulbs go the screen still works its like theres no connection to the bulbs to make them light up. has anyone else had this problem?

I would definitely try a voltmeter on the trackc to make sure they are dead when they should be on.

I would also check your fuses and make sure all the other incidental lighting is OK like window switches and the buttons on the front.

iv checked the fuses under the bonnet and there all fine thats the second thing i done after swapping the bulbs over and everything else works fine like my heater unit, headlight switch, dials, window switches, headlight aim switch, the interior dimmer switch and the time and date bit on the obc there all fine. its just the main screen bit that tells you things like the range, outside temp and speed just that screen dont light up

    There isn't an internal fuse.

Is the issue illumination or a blank display? or both?

Depending how you have wired it the main bit of the OBC will only come on when you press a button, it isn't "active" all the time like the clock display.

i think its just illumunation because like iv said the bulbs dont work but if i shine a torch where the holes to the bulbs are i can read the screen so it still works and it doesnt come on when i touch any buttons either because iv tried that
