I’ve had my BMW about 7 Weeks and real proud of it as it’s the first Bimmer I have owned however accidentally left the driver window slightly ajar, during the last two days of rain in London water came through the window and wet carpet and may have penetrated affected the Electric door mirror switch because when I pressed the switch button to activate the mirrors they would not open. So mirrors are in closed position. Not good. Could water have damaged the switch? Any help & advice on resolving problem would be appreciated.

Have you checked for power at the switch with a test light?

Thanks for the response and advice guys. I took the switch out and dried it with a hair drier only for it to work temporarily for a few minutes. So I opted out to buy a new one from my local BMW dealer at a cost of £ 49.70. Both door mirrors works fine now.

    Cheers
