Hi everyone from Australia, I am new to the forum and have recently purchased this car. The problem I have is that the Brake light fuse #9 keeps blowing and the brake lights remain on. I was advised to insert a 10amp fuse momentarily in the holder and turn on the ignition, then replace it with the 5amp fuse, this fixed the problem short term. The problem has reoccurred and I have tried this again and it now keeps blowing fuses. I am an electrical technician and am confident to fix this if I can have some information on possibilities. Any help??
    Regards
    Ian

Have you checked the wiring yet at the boot(trunk) hinge? as this is a common problem area for electrical problems. It shorts out against other wires from the repeated opening and closing of the boot.

    Hi Ronnie,
Thanks for that mate I will try tomorrow. I have since replaced both stop lamps and removed and refitted the brake light switch.

The fault has cleared itself and all is working good. That is the problem with intermittent faults they are a real problem to find.

Thanks for your help and I will let you know about the harness at the boot.
    Regards
    Ian
